Focus Features has released the first trailer for the upcoming thriller7 Days in Entebbe. Directed byElite SquadandRoboCop(2014) filmmakerJosé Padilha, the film is inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight from Tel Aviv to Paris, which was hijacked and diverted to Entebbe, Uganda where the hijackers held the passengers hostage for one week. Daniel BrühlandRosamund Pikelead the cast as two of the hijackers, but the film also looks to be chronicling the rescue mission planned by the Israeli government, digging into the Israel/Palestine conflict in an intriguing way....

Sony just unleashed a singularity of wholesomeness by releasing a new behind-the-scenes vignette for the upcomingFred RogersbiopicA Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, starringTom Hanksas Mister Rogers. The two-and-a-half minute video features a series of interviews with the cast and crew, describing the process of how they all came together to recreate Fred Rogers as best they could with Hanks. Considering Hanks is a two-time Oscar winner and five-time nominee and shares a similar cultural Dad-space as Fred Rogers, he’s obviously the right man for the job....

Animaniacsis coming back — and they now have an official premiere date. Hulu announced Friday that its revival of the ’90s favorite will begin on Friday, November 20 with 13 episodes. A second season, also consisting of 13 episodes, will premiere in 2021. It’s been 22 years since the show aired its final episode, and the announcement that Hulu would be reviving the iconic adventures of Yakko, Wakko, and Dot was first made in 2018....

Yes that quality slowed down a bit over the summer and, curiously, this fall – Peak TV also means a lot of mediocre television, in addition to the greats – but as with all of my year-end lists, this is about cheers and not jeers, so hopefully you’ll find one of two series you missed to catch up with....
