Thankfully, Jackson, who resides in New Zealand, which has largely defeated the virus, has provided fans with a sneak peek of his work. The film showcases the band’s recording sessions from January 1969 as well as the Beatles last live performance as a group....

It’s almost odd that it should have taken this long to blend the sensibilities ofSteven SpielbergandRoald Dahl, two storytellers who speak to children in a poignant and honest way, but better late than never. We finally have this mash-up with the director’s adaptation of Dahl’sThe BFG, and it’s a charming, delightful picture that carries echoes of Disney’sFantasiaas it swirls around a dreamscape set toJohn Williams’ enchanting score. While it does run a bit long and may not captivate younger viewers with shorter attention spans, it still manages to be a treat for the senses and a joy to behold....

As in years past, the hottest and most anticipated panel at this year’s New York Comic-Con was once again the Marvel-Netflix panel, which was specifically going to be focusing on their next seriesIron Fist, which premieres on March 17. As usual, there were quite a few surprises. These included a number of clips and the first trailer forIron Fist, as well as a preview of their next series,The Defenders. Fox Searchlight has released some new images forWes Anderson’sThe French Dispatchahead of the trailer premiere on Wednesday, February 12. Netflix has releasedThe Polka Kingtrailer. The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year and tells the true story of Jan Lewan (Jack Black), a polka performer in Pennsylvania who set up a Ponzi scheme that defrauded local residents by promising them a 12% return on their investment. Inmy review, I pointed out that despite a strong performance from Black, the film gets too wrapped up in Lewan’s personality so they fail to note what his scheme says about the American Dream and the lengths people will go to fulfill it....
