If the first words you said when you woke up this morning were something to the effect of, “Great Scott! It’s the future!” then you’re probably aBack to the Futurefan. If not, then you should know that, in theRobert Zemeckis-directed sequelBack to the Future Part II, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) take a trip to the future that lands them squarely on the date of … August 19, 2025. So if you were confused by all of theBack to the Futuretalk on social media today, now you know what all the hubbub is about, bub.
We’ve already taken a look atwhat the sequel picture got right about the present, so with that in mind, we’ve taken to the modern convenience of the Internet to round up all theBack to the Futurenods that are seemingly taking over the world today. It’s a very surreal time in which we live, as a 1989 sci-fi/comedy about time traveling into a future full of fantastic gizmos and high-tech gadgets is being realized in the present because of an overwhelming need to nourish nostalgia and push new products. (Though Pepsi Perfect does sound delicious.) Check out a few of theBack to the Futuretrends making their way around the world today! (Heads up that theToday Showvideo at the end is unfortunately set to auto-play. Apologies!)

Pepsi Perfect [Update]
Pepsi had the bright idea to develop a new bottle design based on the one seen inBack to the Future Part II, with the equally smart move to sell a limited number of these collector’s items to fans. Not so smart: completely botching the release of said Pepsi Perfect bottles. Pro-tip: If you buy a Pepsi Throwback / Made with Real Sugar and close your eyes while you drink it, it’ll be exactly the same experience. Or you canbuy one on eBay for a hugely inflated price point.
Update: Pepsiannounced via Twitterthat they will re-release another limited run of the Pepsi Perfect, which costs twenty bucks a bottle, on November 3rd. Why they don’t release more of them, beyond for the sake of scarcity, is lost on me.
