Season 16 ofThe Real Housewives of Atlantais destined to be one for the books regardless of how the season plays out. With the return ofPorsha Williams, who is being completely upstaged by her bestie and former friend of the show,Shamea Morton, and three completely green peaches, audiences were guaranteed a roller-coaster ride.Angela Oakley,Kelli FerrellandBritt Eadyrealized they had some expensive Giuseppe Zanottis to fill, stepping into principal roles in the most popular franchise in the Housewives universe. There was no way the three newbies would score with RHOA fans without being compared and contrasted against theRHOAcultural phenomenons, which wereNene Leakes,Sheree Whitfield,Kandi Burrussand, yes, even the problematic former mistressKim Zolciak.

With former Miss USAKenya Moorestill sitting atop her Atlanta throne and former supermodel Cynthia Bailey still in the mix, the newbies felt pressure to prove themselves worthy of being given a peach. In the premiere episode, Kelli and Britt’s thirst for acceptance is almost palpable, with both ladies going above and beyond to make an impression on both fans and their co-stars. Angela is a bit more seasoned than her counterparts and appears to be convinced that her husband’s former professional athlete status has provided her a leg up on the competition.

Britt’s husband is allegedly wealthy but can’t boast celebrity status and Kelli recently divorced her husband, so the two girlfriends immediately set out to earn their roles by attacking their respective OGs on the show, Kenya and Porsha. Kelli immediately goes after the most obvious weakness in Porsha’s snatched exterior, her estranged marriage toSimon Guobadia.Kelli brings up the peach elephant in the room that Porsha refuses to acknowledge, which is that she was engaged to Simon while he was still married to the woman she brought on the show. If there was ever a situation that confirmed the old adage,‘how you get them is how you lose them’ it would be Porsha and Simon. But Porsha has refused to bat a fake lash at the reality of her broken marriage for months and a newbie’s suggestion of her known impropriety in the first episode was certainly not going to shake her.

Brit Eady Has Wanted a Problem With Kenya From the Start

Brit set her sights onKenya, which showed her confidence from the start. Many newbies and returning co-stars have unsuccessfully attempted to rival the former beauty queen and most have retreated with their weaved heads bowed and shoulders slumped. Britt entered theRHOAstratosphere with confidence at 1000, as her tagline states, “I’m pretty and paid. Of course, there are haters trying to shade.” Because of Brit’s early confidence, it’s not surprising that she set her rival sights on Kenya and immediately honed in. In the first episode, the rivalry between Brit and Kenya starts almost immediately with Kenya questioning Brit’s upgraded wedding ring and the newbie throwing her extravagant upgrade in her face. Labeling her an irrelevant factor,Kenya dismisses Brit’s efforts, which made her come out swinging even harder.

Porsha Williams Is Right To Be In Her Feelings About Drew Sidora Wanting To Film With Her Ex on ‘RHOA’

Porsha Williams' ex is seeming trading in his hot dog franchise for a carer as a music industry executive, and only Drew Sidora is buying it.

Brit continued coming for the “twirl queen” and eventually she got the attention she was seeking. During one of her QVC Lives, Porsha spilled a littleRHOAtea and let viewers know that while filming with the newbies, she and Kenya were enjoying a newfound friendship. She also revealed that Kenya was doing her due diligence and “gathering the newbies”. Social media critics speculated that the newbie’s energy, specifically Brit’s, felt more suited toLove & Hip Hop: Atlantathan one of the housewives franchises.

Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley

Popular YouTuberKempirewas one of the many bloggers shocked to report that Brit had threatened Kenya with a “pow pow pow” after she realized she wasn’t able to match Kenya’s wit. Allegedly, Kenya responded to the threat by blowing up explicit pictures of Britt and plastering them on the walls for all to see at her Kenya Moore Hair Care Spa grand opening. The move was ballsy in this new social justice culture and Kenya was suspended from filming. The punishment felt harshbecause theHousewivesfranchise is notorious for rivals hitting below the belt without facing such harsh consequences.

Many Critics Believe Kenya’s Suspension From Season 16 Was Unfair

Kandi was one of the former housewives that came to Kenya’s defense, suggesting that in seasons past, co-stars played dirty but weren’t penalized as harshly as Kenya. Britt’s threats shouldn’t have been overlooked if Kenya’s actions were judged so harshly. Like most have learned, Kenya is a formidable opponent when it comes to mental wits.Porshais excited about their new relationship, but she knows more than anyone how strategic Kenya can be when it comes to touching her rivals with her wit without laying a finger on them.Kenya was chastisedfor attempting to fight Kenya after losing her cool with her at the infamous scepter reunion. Kenya waved a wand in Porsha’s face, taunting her until she exploded with a physical reaction.

When she chose to go after Kenya, Britt bit off more than she could chew. Not only is Kenya beautiful, but she is quick-witted and resourceful.Kenyais MIA for most of season 16, but Britt needs to pace herself if she wants to achieve even half the notoriety Kenya has been able to leverage from her seasons onRHOA.
