It’s been less than two weeks sinceThe Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Powerwasrenewed for Season 3, and now one of the show’s biggest stars has officially found his next project. A new report from Deadline revealed thatIsmael Cruz Cordóva, best known for portraying Arondirin the first two seasons of Prime Video’sRings of Powerseries, has been set for a role inVerity, the adaptation ofColleen Hoover’s novel of the same name. Cordóva isn’t the only one to join the cast; he’s also flanked byBrady Wagner(Merrily We Roll Along),Irina Dvorovenko(The Blacklist),K.K. Moggie(Gotham Knights), andMichael Abbott Jr.(The Drama). The script forVeritycomes fromNick AntoscaandHilary Seitz, andMichael Showalterhas been tapped to direct.

Cordova and co. join several other major stars in the cast ofVerity, includingAnne Hathaway,Dakota Johnson, andJosh Hartnett. Hathaway is fresh offThe Idea of You, the age gap romantic comedy which she stars in alongsideNicholas Galitzine, and she will also reunite with herInterstellardirectorChristopher NolanforThe Odyssey. Johnson most recently appeared in the critically malignedMadame Webmovie set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, and she will also star alongsideChris EvansandPedro PascalinMaterialists, the upcoming rom-com fromCeline Song. As for Hartnett, he’s on a bit of a comeback streak that started with his work inOppenheimer, and he parlayed that into a role inTrap, the 2024 thriller fromM. Night Shyamalanthat became a huge streaming hit on Max.

Colleen Hoover’s Last Movie Was a Box Office Hit

After several blockbusters premiered at the end of the year,It Ends with Uswas ultimately pushed out of its top 15 spot, but it still finished the year as the #16 highest-grossing movie domestically. The film earned $148 million at the domestic box office and $201 million internationally for a global total of just under $350 million.It Ends with Uswas divisive upon release, with critics scoring the film a harsh 55%, but general audiences found it much more favorable, reviewing it with an 89% approval rating onRotten Tomatoes.Blake Livelystars alongsideJustin Baldoniin the film, with Baldoni also directing.Brandon Sklenar,Jenny Slate, andHasan Minhajwere also tapped for roles inIt Ends with Us.
