In the first season of Netflix’sDaredevil, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) explained to a jury that the line between good and evil is sometimes a straight line, sometimes a blur. This delineation will be more of the latter in season 2 whenJon Bernthaldebuts asFrank Castle(a.k.a. the Punisher). A new featurette released ahead ofthe show’s returndives a bit deeper into thisCivil Warbetween Daredevil and the darker vigilante.

The previous trailers heard Frank tell Daredevil that “he’s one bad day away from being me,” while Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) remarks in the featurette that Frank “could be any one of us.” Bernthal continued:

He’s not a villain. He’s not a superhero. He’s trying to make people pay for what they’ve done. Daredevil’s brand of justice is ridiculous to Frank, yet he’s such a worthy adversary…As dark as he is, inside there’s a man who suffered real loss.

This loss of his family is what has transmogrified this man to become the skull-wearing dark angel of Hell’s Kitchen. While Daredevil seeks justice, Frank seeks fatal revenge, which puts the two at odds. Watch the featurette below.
