Season 6 of ‘The Kardashians’ Is Already Losing Steam

As Kris toyed with her earrings and laughed in discomfort, her daughter shared the story of the time Kris brought home fake Chanel watches as gifts for her daughters. Surprisingly, Kourtney alleged her mother bought them “hot off a truck” after a tip fromKathy Lee Gifford, while Kris nodded along in disbelief that the story was being aired. In a confessional, Kourtney detailed how this happened just at the beginning of the sisters' reality TV careers, and their mother gave them these watches under the pretense they were real.The sisters bought the story until the watches started chipping, and the “diamonds” began to fall out.When a producer called out Kris in a confessional for “pleading the fifth” by refusing to confirm if the watches were stolen, Kris firmly agreed she was, with one of her tense smiles that let the crew know it was time to move on from that line of questioning.
Kourtney Takes Another Dig at Kris on ‘The Kardashians’
It isn’t surprising that Kourtney was unable to attend the lavish filmed family event whilebusy with her husband’s tour, and instead finding her own way to celebrate her grandmother in a more intimate way. This is especially true considering the boundaries that Kourtney has set around filming with the family since she initially departedKeeping Up With the Kardashiansin Season 18. When shethreatened to quit the seriesoriginally, it was due to her issues with the family only having superficial connections with one another that involved these filmed moments of extravagant celebration, rather than having true emotional intimacy.
It is also unsurprising that Kourtney found a way to subtly criticize her mother’s choices when discussing MJ’s party, even if it was subconsciously. By sharing the story of the cheap fake Chanel watches that started to chip and fall apart, Kourtney was speaking honestly about something that actually happened in the family. It was obvious the story being shared on camera embarrassed Kris, based on her immediate stuttering and the shift in body language, crossing her arms and playing with her hair in discomfort.

The most recent episode is titled “Payback’s a Bitch,” but Kris' cutthroat business policy takes on a new meaning as the momager takes issue with her daughter sharing authentically on camera in Season 6. Kourtney had better be on the lookout to ensure her boss/mother doesn’t have something nasty planned for her andher new blended familyin Season 7 as payback for her honesty.
