The steelbook for the 2025 film is now available for preorder and includes a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital copy combo, along with bonus content that explores how the2002 animated classic was reimagined for a new generation.
Fans will get an inside look at howDisney recreated scenes from the originalwithbehind-the-scenes featuretteslikeOhana Means Family: Making Lilo & Stitch. There’s also going to beDrawn to Livefootage, that will compare animated moments from the original film with their live-action counterparts. The release includes ablooper reel and two never-before-seen deleted scenestitled “Nani Cleans Up” and “My Name is Nani.” Finally, the steelbook also featuresScenes with Stitch, a bonus segment where Stitch offers commentary on his favorite scenes from the film, which include his chaotic arrival on Earth and the iconic hula performance. TheLilo & Stitch(2025) steelbook is priced at $44.99 and is available for preordernow atWalmart. The release is expected to ship on August 26, 2025.

The film earned $416.2 million domestically and $584.8 million internationally, which adds up to a global total of $1.001 billion against a budget of about $100 million.Disney’s live-action remake is also the first Hollywood release to achieve the featsinceMoana 2dominated the Thanksgiving box office charts in 2024. The success ofLilo & Stitchalso contributed to Disney’s record-breaking Memorial Day weekend in 2025, where it opened to $183 million over four days.
Given the live-action film’s massive success, a sequel is already in the works with originalLilo & Stitchco-creatorChris Sanderscoming on board to write the screenplay.The Hollywood Reporterhas shared thatSanders has not been asked to direct the sequel, but will play a huge role in penning down a brand-new story that is not based onprevious animatedLilo & Stitchsequels. The writer is also credited with voicing Stitch in both the animated and live-action versions of the franchise.Disneyofficially announced the sequel on June 26, also known as"626 Day,“areference to Stitch’s Experiment number.

Sanders previously co-wrote and co-directed the original 2002 animatedLilo & StitchalongsideDean DeBlois. The 2025 live-action, on the other hand, was directed byDean Fleischer Camp, with a screenplay byChris Kekaniokalani BrightandMike Van Waes.As per the outlet,Jonathan Eirichwill return to produce thelive-action sequel.
