The First Giant Steps for a Marvel Villain

While Dr. Doom has been featured heavily in every live-action Fantastic Four film since 2005, the choice to omit their arch rival almost entirely from the story gave moviegoers a chance to experience the true power of Galactus.Played byRalph Ineson(The Witch), the character’s weighty screen presence and voice were ripped straight from the comics. The character was also as practical as possible, with Ineson in an actual costume on set. That was something Ineson promoted a lot on the press tour for the film. This is unlike the 2007 film,Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which relegated the big bad to a CGI storm cloud.

InFirst Steps,Galactushas marked The Fantastic Four’s planet for death. However, it gets even worse when the super team heads to space to negotiate.Galactus wants Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman’s baby son, Franklin, as his replacement. The Fantastic Four refuse, which makes the world turn on them as they attempt to find another solution. Not only isGalactus their biggest threatto date, the stakes have only risen with their son now in the picture.
