Godzillamay not have a new film to destroy theaters with this year, but the King of Monsters isn’t letting go of his grip on our bite-worthy pop culture. Because ofGodzilla Minus OneandGodzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s success at the box office, a new wave of merchandise has been terrorizing store shelves over the last year. This has includedFunko Pops, apparel collections and action figures.Mondohas been serving up the latter with a ton of fiery figures to make anyGodzillafan smile. Now they’re back with their latest edition to theirGodzillacollection.
Mondo’s newGodzillasoft vinyl figure is done by Attack Peter. The 10-inch piece has threeinterchangeable heads and an attachable heat ray effect. This now joins figures from other companies like McFarlane Toys, who recently started acollectionbased onJustice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong. Despite not having a new film, Godzilla has been busy with comic crossovers in 2025. Marvel created a series ofone-shotsthat will be leading up toGodzilla Destroys the Marvel Universethis summer.Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2is also releasing later this year. When Does ‘Godzilla’ Return to the Big Screen?
While it’s going to be a bit of time until Godzilla causes more chaos in theaters, everyone’s favorite kaiju will return to theaters in a currently untitledGodzilla x Kongsequelon August 21, 2025, now officially titledGodzilla x Kong: Supernova. The new film will starKaitlyn Dever(The Last of Us),Delroy Lindo(Sinners),Dan Stevens(Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire),Sam Neill(Jurassic Park) andMatthew Modine(Stranger Things). There are no plot details yet, but it’ll be a continuation of the American MonsterVerse which started withGodzilla(2014).Monarch: Legacy of MonstersSeason 2 is also on the way for Apple TV+. As for the Toho universe, asequel toGodzilla Minus Oneis currently in development. Though there hasn’t been a release window set for that project yet.Minus Onewas one of the best-reviewed films of 2023 and helped start offGodzilla’s 70th birthday celebrations with a gigantic roar. It won the franchise its first Academy Award for Special Effects as well.
