If you’re aHarry Potterfan, odds are you simply can’t get enough of the wizarding world. The final book inJ.K. Rowling’s now-classic series was published in 2007, and the final film in the feature franchise hit theaters in 2011, but here we are in 2016 andHarry Potteris alive as ever. It’s a testament to the vitality of the world and characters that Rowling created, and now, just as the playHarry Potter and the Cursed Childis blowing up the London stage scene, evenmorenew stories are poised to be released.

Pottermoreannounced today that a series of new eBook short stories will be unveiled this September under the banner ofPottermore Presents. These “bite-sized” eBooks include tidbits taken from the Pottermore archives as well as original writing from Rowling herself, and they offer even more insight into the inner workings of the wizarding world.

The three eBooks are as follows:Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guidedives into the history of the wizarding school, including extra insight into the Hogwarts ghosts and what happens when the Sorting Hat can’t make up his mind;Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Political and Pesky Poltergeistsfocuses on the darker aspects of the wizarding world, including a history of Azakaban prison, more information on Umbridge’s tenure at the Ministry of Magic, and a new piece of writing by Rowling on Horace Slughorn’s relationship with the young Voldemort; and finallyShort Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies, which focuses on the staff of Hogwarts and includes a new piece of writing from Rowling on Professor McGonagall’s involvement in the second wizarding war.

These eBooks will be available to purchase for $3 each starting September 6th, and will be provided in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish. Obviously the timing coincides with theCursed Childfervor and in anticipation of the release of the filmFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which boasts Rowling’s first screenplay credit and takes place 100 years beforePotter. So while it’s certainly nice to see even more of Rowling’s knowledge about the wizarding world shared, one hopes we don’t get into “overkill” mode in the name of corporate promotion.
