Hawkeyehas wrapped its first season, and fans are still awaiting official confirmation on where these characters might be popping up next. Whether or not there will be a second season remains up in the air, but with Kate Bishop having been the focal character of the series, it seems certain that we’ll be seeing her again, and soon.

Kate went through a lot inHawkeyeseason one, losing her father in a flashback scene and losing her mother emotionally throughout the course of the series. She stepped into a position of great power, but as we all know, that also comes with it some pretty heavy responsibility. As far as where and when and how this will all manifest remains to be seen, but, as always, we (and Reddit) can speculate our little hearts out.

Taking Over As Hawkeye

This theory was all over Reddit before being more or less confirmed at the end of the series. With Kate bouncing ideas for her own superhero name off of Clint, he notes that he has an idea for what handle she could use going forward as the Hawkeye logo flashes across the screen.

In the comics, Kate actually became Hawkeye officially when Steve Rogers passed on his costume, noting that he had once been the only Avenger who would challenge him and that she had stepped into that role. Though the series went in a very different direction, it confirms a uniting theme, and that is that being Hawkeye is about attitude more than anything else. With her bravery and kindness unquestionable, it’s Kate’s sense of humor and rapid-fire decision-making that makes her the prime candidate to become Hawkeye.

Labeling Those Arrows

Clint’s failure to label his dang arrows was a running joke as Kate shot blindly and discovered what the arrows did as she went along. Leaning out of the window of a car and trying to survive a hail of gunfire from various sects of the underworld, she didn’t have time to ask which arrow did what before letting them fly. This made for one of the more entertaining parts of the series as she was just as surprised as the bad guys were at the results of each arrow as they hit their respective marks.

The possibilities seem limitless, especially after the introduction of a Pym arrow in the final episode of the first season.

Hawkeye Kate Yelena

The Next Black Widow & Hawkeye Team-Up

Many fans and critics agree thatYelena Belova and Kate Bishop’s scenes togetherwere series highlights. The combinations of Yelena’s deceptively laidback attitude and Kate’s nervous fidgeting made for a truly memorable team-up for the sparse amount of screen time it got. Though Yelena’s training has made her an expert in her field, Kate’s ability to lead with her heart had her chasing Yelena into elevators and jumping off of rooftops, earning the Black Widow’s respect.

Again, this isn’t a theory that can be traced to one Reddit poster, as much of the response to the show has been a flood of requests to see these two scene-stealers star in their own Hawkeye and the Black Widow film. Yet, it is a theory that we are extremely here for, so here’s hoping that a press release announcing this will be in our stockings next Christmas.

Financial Backing of the Young Avengers

Rumors of the Young Avengers making a big-screen debut have been in the works for quite some time, and as more and more characters from the comic book cast make their first appearances and Marvel’s first wave of actors continue to retire from the franchise, it seems inevitable it will happen soon.

Though her connection to her mother’s wealth is more in question than ever before, it seems very clear that Kate’s mom still loves her regardless of the pain between them. If she wants to reconcile with Kate, then offering to help finance the Young Avengers could be just the way to do it. Whether she would do this out of the kindness of her heart or to further her own ends, of course, remains to be seen.

Teaming Up With Echo to Take Out Fisk

The debut of Echo in the MCU is one of the best things that theHawkeyeseries gave its viewers. Maya Lopez has long been a fan favorite in Marvel monthlies likeDaredevil,as well as recently taking center stage in thePhoenix Song: Echomini-series. InHawkeye, she showed off her ability to “walk between two worlds,” appearing first as an adversary and then as an ally.

As many Reddit users have pointed out, we never saw Fisk’s body after his apparent death. Even if we had, death is anything but permanent in the wild world of superheroes.Maya has every reason to hunt Fiskto the ends of the earth if he’s still alive, but Kate lost a lot to the Kingpin’s power plays herself. As Kate steps into a larger role in the MCU at the same time Echo does, it’s an enticing possibility that the two of them might find themselves working together in hopes of evening the scales.
