AlrightHomelandfans, we’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the swell drama series isn’t going away anytime soon. The bad news is you’re gonna have to wait a bit longer for Season 6. Showtime announced today that whileHomelandSeason 6 is set to begin production in New York in August, the new season will be shifting from a fall premiere to a winter premiere, sometime in 2017, for the first time.

Last weekwe learned the fate ofRupert Friend’s Peter Quinnafter the emotionally charged cliffhanger from Season 5, and indeed Friend is listed as part of the returning cast here alongsideClaire Danes,Mandy Patinkin, andF. Murray Abraham. Moreover, in case you thoughtHomelandmight be heading towards a conclusion sometime soon, Showtime continues to be high on the series and is currently in negotiations to renew the series fortwomore seasons before Season 6 even starts production, perTHR. This is no doubt an assurance that the main cast remains intact, or at least most of it, but given the creative rebound of the last couple of seasons, I’m inclined to continue following this show for however long it goes.

While filming for Seasons 4 and 5 took place in South Africa and Berlin, respectively,Homelandreturns to the U.S. for this new season, and it’ll be interesting to see where we find Danes’ Carrie Mathison this time around. Will we see the return of the Brodys, and will she ship off her child once more to get it out of the way of the plot? We’ll find out early next year!

Principal directorLesli Linka Glatterreturns as an executive producer for Season 6 alongsideHoward Gordon,Chip Johannessen,Patrick Harbinson,Michael Klick,Gideon Raff,Avi Nir, andRan Telem, whileAlex Gansareturns as showrunner.
