Percy Jackson and the Olympiansstill has several months to go before the arrival of its sophomore season, but fans of theRick Riordan-inspired series won’t be amiss if they seek out potential plotlines. Season 2 will bring the events ofThe Sea of Monstersto the fore, as the esteem ofWalker Scobell’s Percy Jacksoncontinues to grow across Camp Half Blood and throughout the world of the Olympians. The new season will introduce characters such asDaniel Diemer as Tyson,Timothy Simonsas Tantalus,Sandra Bernhard,Kristen Schaal, andMargaret Choasthe Gray Sisters, andTamara Smartas Thalia. Diemer’s arrival as Tyson means his character shares kinship with Scobell’s Percy, as both are sons of the sea god, Poseidon.
Season 2 will see Percy take on the role of big brotherto Tyson, a cyclops. In many moments in the first season, Percy lacked the sort of guidance a young man his age required. It was a rolehis mother, Sally (Virginia Kull), struggled to attain sometimes. Looking ahead to Season 2 in a conversation with ScreenRant, Scobell reveals his character would have to serve as “guardian” to his half-brother, Tyson. When asked if Percy replicates any of Sally’s parental traits with Tyson, Scobell responds, saying, “I think definitely. think from the very beginning, basically the first scene, you see Sally treating Tyson the same way that you kind see her treating Percy in the first season,” He goes on to add, “When we get to Camp Half-Blood,things are weird because I have to be [Tyson’s] mom, I guess, orhis big brother to take care of him. I’m his guardian, and so I have to take care of him, and so I have to get that through my head. I treat him a little differently at the start.”

Despite His Allegiance to Kronos, Annabeth Still Sees Good in Luke
It’ll be interesting to see how differently Percy treats Tyson at the beginning andhow quickly his attitude towards his brother changes. Season 1 saw Percy in Tyson’s shoes, in need of guidance, which came from fellow Camp Half-Blood resident, Luke (Charlie Bushnell), who had betrayed Percy and his fellow demigod companions, Annabeth (Leah Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri), in service of Kronos and his efforts to overthrow the gods of Olympus. Asked if Annabeth still stands with Luke in a separate part of the interview, Jeffries reveals that her character still sees good in her longtime friend,
“That’s a really good question. Honestly, I think Annabeth still tries to see good in him. I don’t think she [fully] sees it, but I think she’s trying to see it. Her mind is very much like she sees what’s not there, like Luke’s mom, how she could see things before other people. If you are a bad person, Annabeth will still see that there’s something behind you that no one else knows.”
Season 2 ofPercy Jackson & The Olympianswill come out in December 2025. Season 1 is available to stream on Disney+. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
