Warner Bros. has released the first trailer forIT Chapter Two,the sequel to directorAndy Muschietti’s 2017 coming of age tale of killer clowns and sailboats gone awry. Set 27 years after the first outing, this film features a Losers Club all grown up.James McAvoystars as Bill Denbrough,Jessica Chastaintakes on the role of Beverly Marsh,Bill Haderwill play Richie Tozer,James Ransonewill portray Eddie Kaspbrak,Jay Ryanwill tackle Ben Hanscom, andIsaiah Mustafais on board as Mike Hanlon.
And because evil is constant in both Derry and these films, Hollywood’s go-to boogeymanBill Skarsgardreprises his role of Pennywise the dancing clown, among other atrocities.

This trailer works incredibly well by leading off with a scene of Beverly talking with an old woman who isn’t all that she appears to be. It looks like Muschietti has lost none of the pop of the original which made 2017’sITsuch an enjoyable roller coaster. I also like that the opening of this trailer hammers on how scary this movie is supposed to be rather than just leaning on a bunch of Pennywise iconography (although this trailer certainly has its fair share of balloons). Part of me almost doesn’t want to see any more marketing for this movie so that it can scare me out of my wits when it arrives in September.

Andy Bean (“Allegiant,” Starz’ “Power”) plays Stanley, and reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club are Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie.
