Jason Statham’snext action-packed thrillerMutinyis officially on the move. Lionsgate has locked in aJanuary 9, 2026 release datefor the film, giving theTransporterstar another high-octane project to kick off the new year.Statham loves beginning each year with some pulsating action, it would seem, and this marks the third year in a row that he will bring in the new year with putting some bad guys in the hospital, followingThe Beekeeper’s release last January,A Working Mannext month, and now,Mutiny.
Directed byJean-François Richet(Plane),Mutinyfollows Statham as Cole Reed, a man who finds himself on the run after being framed for the murder of his billionaire industrialist boss. As he fights to clear his name, Reed stumbles upon a sprawling international conspiracy — who amongst ushasn’tstumbled upon those in our day-to-day lives? — and in typical Statham fashion, plenty of bullets, explosions, and high-speed chases are bound to follow.
While much ofMutiny’splot remains under wraps, Statham won’t be taking on the action alone. Joining him in the film isJason Wong, who recently starred inDungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thievesand has frequently worked alongside another Statham admirer inthe form ofGuy Ritchie. Wong plays Taran, a close friend and trusted confidant to Statham’s Cole Reed.
Also in the cast isAnnabelle Wallis(Peaky Blinders), though her role is being kept a mystery for now. People just love mysteries, don’t they? The screenplay forMutinyis penned byLindsay MichelandJ.P. Davis, with Statham producing under his Punch Palace Productions banner alongside Marc Butan of MadRiver Pictures. Lionsgate is handling domestic distribution, while Sky has the U.K. rights.

Directed byDavid Ayerand written bySylvester Stallone, the film stars Statham as Levon Cade, a former black ops agent striving for a peaceful life with his daughter, only to be pulled back into action when a loved one goes missing.The cast also includesDavid Harbour, Michael Peña, andJason Flemyng.Statham is also set to reprise his role as Deckard Shaw in the final installment of theFast and Furioussaga, which is going to shoot in Los Angeles later this year and is primed to release at some point in 2026.
