Recently,KingsmanstarTaron Egertonwascaught between two dueling production schedules: 20th Century Fox’sKingsman 2and Lionsgate’sRobin Hood: Origins. Egerton’s breakout movie role came inKingsman: The Secret Service, theMatthew Vaughn-directed adaptation ofMark MillarandDave Gibbon’s"The Secret Service" comic book, and after banking more than $412 million at the global box office, it became clear that the studio would be moving ahead on a sequel with Egerton returning in the role of Eggsy.

AsTHRreports, Egerton’s performance attracted the attention of Lionsgate’sRobin Hoodreboot, putting the title hero’s feather in the cap of the 26-year-old actor. Juggling multiple film roles is part of the business and most seem to do it with little difficulty, but the conflict between these two productions caused a minor dust-up. Vaughn’s MARV Films, which produced and financedKingsman, exercised the option on Egerton for a firm April production start. All well and good except that Lionsgate’sRobin Hoodwas going to be shooting in February.

Egerton could have been recast or the production of theOtto Bathurst-directed origin story could have gone off the rails, but cooler heads prevailed. It seems that Egerton will still filmKingsman 2in April according to plan, and will then move toRobin HoodonceKingsman 2wraps, likely late in the summer of 2016. So enjoy having the rest of the year off, young Master Egerton!

The star’s other upcoming projects includeEddie the Eagle, in which he plays Great Britain’s first ski jumper to win the Olympics,Eddie Edwards. Also mentioned in THR’s write-up is that Egerton is attached to star inCrooks County,an indie crime drama scripted byAron GaudetandGita Pullapillythat tells the true tale of a whistleblower who was part of an undercover FBI operation in 1980s Cook County, Illinois. The sting resulted in the largest number of convictions of government officials in American history.
