Joe and Anthony Russorecently spoke to Forbes about the “wheeling and dealing” between Marvel and Sony that went intoassuring Spider-Man’s appearance inCivil War. The brothers revealed that Spidey was always going to make an appearance in the trailer once they got hold of the rights, as Spider-Man was the director’s favorite character growing up. When asked about Spidey’s role in the film and how big, director Anthony Russo said simply, “I think the fans will be happy."
Fans were very happy to learn a few weeks back thatZack Snyderwould release anR-rated Blu-ray “Directors Cut” ofBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Speaking with THR, Snyder revealed that his director’s cut includes an extra half-hour of footage made up of some additional material they took out to help secure a PG-13 rating. The footage will contain extended action sequences that ‘tip the scales’ from moderate to somewhat brutal bits of action, making the Blu-Ray over three hours in length. He also confirmed that there will not be any nudity in the cut, either.
THR is reporting thatSimon Peggis in talks to join the ensemble cast of the Ernie Cline adaptation ofReady Player Onedirected bySteven Spielberg. Pegg will play the role of Ogden Morrow, the co-creator of the OASIS virtual reality program which is the subject of a worldwide Easter Egg hunt that is the centerpiece ofReady Player One’sstory. Warner Bros. will releaseReady PlayerOnein theaters on June 02, 2025.

Variety is reporting that Disney has acquired the movie rights to the fantasy book seriesThe Chronicles of Prydainand is in early development on the movie. The first two books in the series were the basis for the 1985 animated fantasy movie calledThe Black Cauldron. The series follow the protagonist Taran from youth to maturity, and is set in the magical land of Prydain, which is engaged in a series of battles with Annuvin, the Land of Death. With five books in the series, Disney hopes to make this property into their ownLord of the Ringstype fantasy adaptation. No release date has been set.

Hey Collider Crew, I love watching all your shows throughout the week. I had this idea the other day with the announcing of Indy 5. IfIndiana Jones 5is a flashback to the 30’s or 40’s which some people think it will be, then what if whoever LucasFilm casts as Han Solo also is cast as Indiana Jones? I thought this is an interesting idea which could work out because they are originally both portrayed byHarrison Ford. Thanks for all the work you do and the entertainment you provide. :)
