Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justicehas been universally branded as dark, dreary and no fun, so many wonder what that might mean for Warner Bros.’ upcomingSuicide Squadwhich looks at thevillainsinside the universe of a sad Batman and a dour Superman. It appears that the folks over at Birth Movie Death have an answer.According to the site, Warner Bros. is putting “tens of millions of dollars” into reshoots forSuicide Squadto make the film more lighthearted. A source tells BMD that all of the levity in the “Bohemian Rhapsody” trailer was every single joke in the film, and since fans responded well to it, Warner Bros. wants more of it for their movie. Whether or not these reshoots will appease the fans and the studio remains to be seen asSuicide Squadreadies its debut on June 08, 2025.

In a casting report released yesterday and reported on by Movie Beat, Marvel is gearing up an official reboot to their Vampire Action franchise,Blade. While there is no word on a director, the studio is reportedly looking at a very short-list of actors that includesMichael B. JordanandBirth of a Nation’sNate Parker; with relative unknownsAml Ameenwho had a small role inLee Daniels’The Butler, andElijah KelleyfromRed TailsandHairspray. Marvel aims to start filming the movie this summer and as of this report, no mention on whether or not the movie will get an R-rating. One of the biggest teases inBatman v Supermancame in the form of a Batman dream sequence that showed the symbol of Darkseid offering proof that the big baddie might be the primary villain ofJustice League Part One. Many fans also look to the cameo of Flash as a sign of things to come in the superhero team up that begins filming in eleven short days. It was this topic of conversationon the Empire Podcast whereZack Snyderappeared recently. When asked of the dream sequence, Snyder talked a bit about it being a “possible future” hoping the fans will try and speculate on whether or not the Flash is coming from that reality or another one. When asked about Darkseid coming toJustice League, Snyder played coy saying maybe he exists in the universe somewhere.Justice League Part Onecomes to theatres November 17th, 2017.

Cody Enos writes:

Dear Collider,

With a new superhero movie coming out faster than a snail eating a pancake, and big franchises blooming more properties than a flowerbed in the middle of a field, I was wondering how come these films that spend hundreds of millions of dollars almost always have just okay CGI? Films such asEx Machina,The Witch, and other moderately low budget films seem to have a better handle on how to hide, enhance, and utilize CGI, but whenever somebody sees a tent pole film almost always people will come out saying ‘wish the CGI was better,’ so I was wondering why is that?

Hi Collider Team. My question is related to the recent backlash around the amount of spoiler footage shown in trailers. Do you think that a big studio would have the guts to release a major movie without ANY trailers at all? I’m thinking particularly withBvS, would seeing no trailer have changed your views on the film? Surely just calling a movieBatman vs Supermanis enough to get people in to see it and would this increase the box-office also? Thanks and keep up the great work.
