The movie is set to begin shooting in Australia next year to hit its new release date of August 07, 2025.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2directorJames Gunnrecently took to Facebookto explain why Baby Groot is not just some shameless cash-grab to sell toys. His explanation came on the heels of some interaction with fans on Twitter, who accused him and Marvel of only creating Baby Groot as a marketing ploy. As he reveals, that wasn’t even his initial plan. Gunn said he came up with the idea to have the film take place right after the first one so that Groot is Baby Groot. This changed opened the rest of the film for him and everything came together.

It looks like the Best Animated Feature race at the Oscars is going to be a tight one. Do you think that any of the animated films will make it into the Best Picture race? Do you think thatMoanaandZootopiawill cancel each other out in the Animated film category, both being Disney flicks? Or does the Academy love its Disney/Pixar films too much? I thought thatKubo And The Two Stringswas pretty spectacular and would love to see Laika get the love they deserve.
