TheSister WivesSeason 19 Tell-Allproved to be the final nail in the coffin forKody Brownand his relationship with his ex-wives,Meri, Janelle, andChristine Brown. Nearly the entire special showed how Kody was clearlynot treating all of his wives equally, but instead of owning up to it, Kody kept findingroundabout ways to blame everyone elseand hislast-standing wife,Robyn Brown, who also spent most of her screen time avoiding accountability. In one shockingly unfiltered moment, Kody ended up admitting to something thatshattered the narrativehe had been trying so hard to build.

Is Kody Brown Really Happy for Christine and David Woolley?

During his sitdown withSister WivesTell-Allhost,Sukanya “Suki” Krishnan, Kody was shown a series of clips whereChristine and her new husband,David Woolley, are openly affectionate with each other. Their dynamic is an obvious shift from how Christine felt in her marriage with theBrown family patriarch. During her own interview with Suki, Christine admitted that herrelationship with Kody lacked intimacy, which is what led to their eventual divorce. However, it’s evident that she doesn’t feel like that in her new marriage. ThroughoutSister WivesSeason 19, Christine and David were seen hugging, kissing, laughing, andenjoying each other’s company.

When Kody was asked how Christine and David’s PDA made him feel, he admitted to being happy for her.The TLC staradded that he was impressed by Christine’s“ability to manifest” the kind of relationshipshe had always wanted. At first, Kody’s response comes off as gracious and mature. However, what he perhaps did not realize was that in doing so, he was actually accepting thathe had been neglecting all his wivesexcept for Robyn. While reflecting on his and Christine’s relationship, Kody confessed that they both “struggled” to build something real. What he refused to acknowledge was that this struggle was largely because of hisblatant denial of Christine’s emotional needs. In the same breath, Kody reduced over 25 years of his and Christine’s marriage to “a good time experience.”

Christine Brown and husband David Woolley

This isn’t the first time Kody has tried toappear casual and detached while talking about his former wives. At this point, the act is getting a little old. Implying thathis marriage to Christinewas surface-level might have been Kody’s way of avoiding accountability, but it also shows just how emotionally unavailable he was to his ex-wives. By trying to make it seem like both parties were equally at fault, Kody once again refused to see how hisfavoritism toward Robynis what led to the breakdown of his family.

Christine Brown’s New Marriage Has Helped Her Heal From the Past

David and Christine’s reaction to the clips, on the other hand, was refreshingly honest and made Kody’s response look even more disingenuous. Instead of playing the blame game or making herself the victim, Christine simply admitted that she is now married to a partner whogives her the connection she has always craved. Woolley didn’t hold back, though, and he called Kody out. According to Woolley, Christine was starved for affection in her previous marriage, and she admitted that it was true.

Christine and Kody’s 22-year-old daughter,Ysabel Brown, also opened up about how Christine always wanted more physical affection from her ex-husband, and that he wouldn’t give it to her. Now that she’s with someone who understands her better, Christine’schildren don’t mind the PDA at all.ThroughoutSister WivesSeason 19, the kids have made it clear that they are happy as long as Christine is happy in her new marriage.

Kody Brown’s Relentless Need To Shift the Narrative in His Favor

Considering all this, Christine seems to havemade peace with her pastand is looking forward to the life she has ahead of her. She knows that her former marriage wasn’t perfect, and she really has embraced the reality of that. Even Janelle and Meri seem focused on building new lives for themselves instead ofclinging to old arguments and grievances. The only people who haven’t done so are Kody and Robyn, who remain stuck in the past and are still visibly bitter towards theformer sister wivesfor walking away.

After constantly claiming that hedid everything he could to save his plural marriagesin previous seasons of the show, Kody is now rewriting the narrative to protect his and Robyn’s public image. Tothe reality star, reframing his relationships with Meri, Christine, and Janelle as meaningless iseasier than confronting how he failed the womenwho were once devoted to him.
