Maneateris a game in which you play as a shark seeking revenge against the fisherman who killed your mother, and that’s the least insane sentence I will be writing about it. It’s a cartoonishly violent adventure loaded with massive set pieces, speedboat ‘splosions, miniboss battles with exotic marine life, and tongue-in-cheek narration byChris Parnell. It’s like ifMichael BaymadeJawsand was forced to give the shark half of his cocaine. And in a summer devoid of blockbusters,Maneaterhappily lurches in to take the spot of “triumphantly ridiculous thing I can plug into for a few hours to forget that the world outside is literally on fire”....

Thurgood Marshall deserves a miniseries on the scale ofJohn Adams. His story is remarkable and even ifReginald Hudlin’sMarshallhad been a great movie, it still wouldn’t be enough to contain the litigator and Supreme Court Justice’s many achievements. As it is,Marshallfeels like it’s only skimming the surface of its title character’s legacy, serving at best as an introduction but by no means the robust biopic its towering central figure deserves. If anything, Marshall’s story is reduced down to half the tale and his purpose seems to be as a guide for a reluctant white litigator....

In the midst of several large reveals about upcoming Marvel projects at this year’s D23 Expo,Matt Shakmanhas officially been confirmed to direct the upcomingFantastic Fourreboot via an announcement at the Marvel Studios panel at D23, confirmed by the company’s officialTwitterpage.
