During Sunday’s episode ofFear the Walking Dead, AMC released a new sneak peek at the upcoming series adaptation ofPreacher. If you were one of those caught up withthe MTV Movie Awardsand all the variousclipsandtrailersthat hit the airwaves, you don’t have to wonder what you missed.
The clip, released online by AMC, features an intense backseat battle between Tulip O’Hare, played byAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.InhumanRuth Negga, and some goon after a map in her back pocket. After firing a bullet at the guy in the passenger seat, the scuffle turns into a knife fight as the car aimlessly snakes through the corn maze. Then Tulip pulled a mouth that Rick fromThe Walking Deadtotally owns at this point — she bites into the guy’s face.

Watch the clip below.
Tulip is the ex-girlfriend ofDominic Cooper’s Jesse Custer, a troubled preacher man in West Texas who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that grants him an unusual power. Along with Jesse, Tulip is one of the three main characters of the series. The third is the Irish vagabond Cassidy, played byJoseph Gilgun. She’s also a total badass.
During an interview withThe Guardian, Negga said of Tulip:
“She’s sort of unforgettable. She has no morals. She’s an agitator assassin, a gun for hire, and she’s written the way male characters are usually written. Conscience is something she buries; obviously she’s damaged. It’s really intriguing. I’d never read a part for a woman like that. They usually have a tender heart or a soft spot for some guy. Not Tulip. You read certain scenes in the script and think: are we allowed to do this? It’s great playing someone unsympathetic and not having to justify her actions.”
