It’s without a doubt thatThe EqualizerSeason 5 has come a long way since McCall’s (Queen Latifah) first mission of the season that nearly killed her in “The Lost Ones.” Meanwhile, the season is already on its way to the finish line with only one episode left, the finale, which airs next Sunday. In anticipation, fans can have a peek at what’s coming thanks to thenewly dropped promobelow, which showsthe title character in very deep troubleamid her romantic getaway.
In the final episode ofThe EqualizerSeason 5, McCall and Dante (Tory Kittles) enjoy a trip away from the city’s chaos, but it’s unfortunately interrupted by Salazar (Juan Javier Cárdenas) and his men, who have been watching them unbeknownst to McCall. As the lovebirds get comfortable, a knock at the door prompts McCall to ask her beau, “You expecting something?” Next, we see the criminals attack the couple, and since the numbers aren’t in their favor, they are quickly defeated. McCall then has to make a deadly decision as Salazar asks, “Do you want to see your boyfriend die or would you prefer to go first?”

Fans may recall that Salazar appeared earlier inthis season ofThe Equalizer, particularly in the premiere and Episode 8, “Guns and Roses,” which saw his gun shipment seized thanks to McCall. So, he’s obviously back for revenge, ambushing McCall and Dante when they least expect it. In addition to that, the Season 5 finale ofthe CBS crime dramawill also see Aunt Vi (Lorraine Toussaint) finally decide to take the next step in her relationship with Captain Curtis (Christopher B. Duncan). At the same time, Dee(Laya DeLeon Hayes) gets to meet with her favorite author.
‘The Equalizer’ Is A Worthy Reboot

The Equalizerreboot was renewed for a second season in March 2021, which premiered later on October 10. It also got double renewals in May 2022 for Seasons 3 and 4, which arrived on July 11, 2025, and August 08, 2025, respectively. Season 5 ofthe vigilante-themed serieswas then announced in April 2024, before Season 4 ended, and it premiered on October 20 of the same year.
