Mark Johnson(Breaking Bad) is producing the mid-budget film, which is expected to start shooting this September as soon as Malek wraps production onBond 25, in which he plays the villain squaring off againstDaniel Craig’s 007.

The Little Thingsfeels like a return toTraining Dayterritory for Washington, who won an Oscar for that film, which also earned his co-starEthan Hawkea nomination. Malek is an equally talented sparring partner, and the two Oscar winners should make for a very intriguing detective duo. WB had hoped to start shooting in the summer, but once Malek sparked to the script, it was obvious to all involved that he was worth waiting for.
