Disney has released a newRogue One: A Star Wars Storytrailer online. For those unfamiliar withRogue One, the story takes place before the events ofA New Hopeand centers on a group of rebels who are sent to retrieve the plans for the Death Star. For those keeping track, this will be the fourth of eightStar Warsmovies that deal with a Death Star in some way.
The movie has had its production troubles, but hopefully those haven’t stopped directorGareth Edwardsfrom realizing an exciting vision that finally paints aStar Warspicture as awarfilm rather than space fantasy.

Unlike the trailers forStar Wars: The Force Awakens, they’re not trying to hide the plot for this one. It clearly lays out that Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) has been recruited by the rebels because her father (Mads Mikkelsen) was kidnapped by the Empire to build the Death Star.
It’s also surprising how drastically different this movie looks from previousStar Warsmovies. While it’s still very much in theStar Warsuniverse, the way it’s presented is unlike anything we’ve seen from the previous seven movies, and I’m really hoping that Edwards' vision coheres into something special. UnlikeForce Awakens, which played it safe,Rogue Onehas the opportunity to change our perception of what aStar Warsmovie can be.
