Taylor Sheridanisn’t waiting around to see how Hollywood shakes out. In the wake of Paramount’s $8.4 billion takeover by Skydance, theYellowstonecreator is doubling down on his home turf in Texas. On Wednesday, Paramount and Sheridan revealed plans for a massive new production campus in Fort Worth — a 450,000-square-foot facility that will house some of his biggest shows, includingLandmanandLioness. The site, built on billionaireRoss Perot Jr.’s AllianceTexas campus, will be the largest of its kind in the state and marks a clear signal that Sheridan is building for the long run.

“We are at a pivotal moment where Texas can become a global force in the film industry, and North Texas offers the location and resources to play a central role in this development,” said Hillwood PresidentMike Berry, whose company is partnering on the project.

The new complex, called SGS Studios, is made up of two buildings and six soundstages capable of handling four large-scale productions at once. It’s already in action — the second season ofLandmanhas been filming there since March.

For Sheridan, who grew up in Fort Worth, it’s a homecoming and a flex rolled into one, because over the last decade, he’s turned Texas into a magnet for TV production, filming projects like1883on location and pumping millions into the state economy. Locals call it “the Sheridan Effect,” with his shows drawing both jobs and tourists.

“SGS Studios isn’t just about sound stages or incentives — it’s about reclaiming the independence and grit that built this industry in the first place,” Sheridan said in a statement.

The timing couldn’t be sharper. Texas recently approved $1.5 billion in film incentives over the next 10 years, part of Lt. Gov.Dan Patrick’spush to make the state “the Film Capital of the World.” With Hollywood still in flux after the Skydance deal, Sheridan’s new base cements Texas as the center of his storytelling empire — and maybe the next great rival to Los Angeles.
