Described as “an intimate documentary delving into Rian Johnson’s process as he comes in as a director new to the Star Wars universe,” directorAnthony Wonke’s docThe Director and the Jedioffers fans everywhere a behind-the-scenes look at the latestStar Warsfilm. DirectorRian Johnsonis the focus of the feature, or at least the stand-in for the surprisingly divisive film itself,Star Wars: The Last Jedi. In this relatively short 11-minute opening clip, there are a ton of behind-the-scenes looks to enjoy, so I can only imagine what awaits viewers in the full two-hour-and-15-minute version arriving with the film’s Blu-ray on March 27th.

In this clip, we get to see Johnson alongside producersKathleen KennedyandRam Bergmanas they attempt to wrangle the insane production schedule into something manageable. Honing in more on his director’s duties, we also get to see Johnson working withMark HamillandDaisy Ridleyas they workshop a now-famous scene and shape it into what will eventually appear in front of millions of fans around the world. We also get phenomenal backstage shots of some of the 100 sets in all stages of construction as well as a return visit to some of the film’s most iconic locations.
