Even though his time as Superman has come to an end, fans' love ofHenry Cavillhasn’t subsided in the least. Travel to any of the four corners of the internet, and there’s sure to be an inordinate amount of thirst and outright admiration for the musclebound Brit who many proudly call The King of the Nerds. That adoration isn’t unwarranted, as the actor has brought a fun mixture of physicality and charm to his roles, whether that’s in a one-off adventure such as hisWWII bromance withAlan Ritchsonor as part ofa franchise likeMission: Impossible.

The Cavillry has no reason to fret about the potential lack of future franchises as well, since Cavill’s set to be a part of several, includingtheHighlanderremakeand a series adaptation of the notoriously nerdy actor’sfavorite tabletop game,Warhammer 40,000. While those projects should keep the fan club satiated for the foreseeable future, their desire for all things Cavill knows no bounds, so with them in mind, here is a list of an additionalsix franchises that could all benefit from a dose of the former superhero star.

6The Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Cavillrine Is Already a Thing…

While he’s only recently gotten free of his prior superhero contract and is already technically part of the MCU thanks tohis cameo inDeadpool & Wolverine, there’s no denying that a little bit of Cavill in the ever-expanding world of Marvel would be very welcome by fans. Whether that comes in the form of Cavillofficially filling in as Wolverineor any number ofother MCU roles he’d be well suited forisn’t necessarily important, so long asCavill gets to flex his physique and maybe have a little more funthan he did as a mostly somber Superman.

The odds of this actually happening are pretty split. The MCU is still trying to reconfigure itself ina post-Endgameworld, and much of that output has seen them lean on fan service and castings of established movie stars. Cavill would check both those boxes, and if the Marvel producers could find the right role to fit him into, they could very well have a new anchor to attach their cinematic universe to. Conversely, if they got Cavill to turn heel and play a villain, it could also provide some serious juice to any number of the potential films currently in their future lineup.Cavill would make a perfect Mr. Sinister, and he’s already saidhe’d like to play Captain Britain, so the options are plenty.

5The Star Wars Franchise

Imagine a Sith Lord Built Like Henry Cavill

If adamantium claws aren’t Cavill’s speed, then perhaps a lightsaber or a good blaster would be more appealing to him. While the future ofStar Warsseems to be on streaming, the franchise will be making a return tothe big screen withThe Mandalorian and Grogu, so the blast doors are open for Cavill to slide his broad shoulders through. What role the actor could fill is wide open as well, as the star could make fora compelling member of the Jedi Order, just as he could equally be a scoundrel or a smuggler or, even better, a Sith Lord.Andorhas proven that the franchise benefits best when it breaks from the formulaic, so perhaps there’s uncharted space that Cavill could venture into as well.

Much like the MCU,Star Warsdoesn’t necessarily have the best track recordwhen it comes to wasting good actors,so if Disney and Lucasfilm do come knocking on Cavill’s door, the actor would do well to be discerning about the project he attaches his name to, lest he become the face an unfortunate floplike poorAlden Ehrenreich. Rumors and whispers of Cavill joining the galaxy far, far away have been spread across the internet for many years, with the actor himself even once stoking the flames of speculation, but to date, nothing has come to fruition. Maybe once Cavill gets his fill of playing a Space Marine,he’ll take a turn towards the dark side.

4The Jurassic Park Franchise

The T-Rex Would Finally Meet His Match

Reviews have started to come inforJurassic World Rebirth, and it seems the series is headed for critical extinction as it currently holds thethird-lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of the franchise. Even if theScarlett Johansson-starrer does make a billion dollars at the box office, the dinosaur franchise is clearly in need of some fresh DNA, and whether there’s a creative shake-up or not, Cavill would make an excellent action hero addition. A starring role alongside the computer-generated reptiles would hopefully let Cavill cut loose and have some real fun on screen, more akin toJeff Goldblum’s idiosyncratic role as Ian Malcolm as opposed to the empty leading man of Owen Grady, which managed to drain all the comic charm fromChris Pratt.

Jurassic Parkhas never really dipped in popularity, since audiences don’t need much more reason than dino carnage to show up to theaters, and when the franchise leans into its pulp roots, it can be a lot of fun. If there’s any star currently working who’ssquare-jawed enough to make for a traditional pulp hero, it’s Cavill. Based on how the internet lost its mind over the actor’s ability to reload his biceps inMission: Impossible - Fallout, they’d likely go into overdrive to see him square up against a raptor.

3’The Chronicles of Narnia' Franchise

Henry Cavill Could Do Wonders Under Greta Gerwig’s Direction

Cavill hasn’t returned to the fantasy genre since his three seasons onThe Witcherbefore switching out withLiam Hemsworth. If he’s looking to make a comeback in the genre, he couldn’t pick a better series thanGreta Gerwig’supcoming refresh ofThe Chronicles of Narnia. The first film has already started to stack up a stellar cast, withMeryl StreepandDaniel Craigboth reportedly on board, and while the specifics of which novel theBarbiedirector will be adapting haven’t been officially announced, there are plenty of roles across the fantasy franchise that Cavill could slot into.

It would bea smart move on Cavill’s part to balance his blockbusters with more character workin the service of major auteurs, and getting in with Gerwig on a big-budget project likeNarniacould open up all sorts of potential future avenues. It’s also possiblea director like Gerwig could tap into heretofore-unseen skills of Cavillas an actor that he hasn’t had opportunities to showcase. Cavill’s last couple of high-profile releases haven’t exactlybeen big hits at the box office or with critics, so attaching himself to projects that have a better chance of being positively received would also be wise.

2The John Wick World

One of These Assassins Is Bound To Use a Sword

WithJohn WickdirectorChad Stahelskiset to helmCavill’s immortal action epicHighlander, it would seem only natural to imagine that the actor could potentially pop up in theKeanu Reeves-fronted franchise, especially sincea fifth film featuring the notorious assassinis officially on the way. Cavill has already proved he can fit into an established action world with his stint in theMission: Impossibleseries, andhis villainous role therecould be a precursor toanother antagonistic performance opposite Reeves. TheWickseries has always taken perverse enjoyment in relentlessly pummeling its lead character, and there are few major stars better suited to do that pummeling than Cavill.

The noir-action serieshas never demanded a great deal of acting range from its expanding cast, simply that they be action-ready and look good in a suit, two things that Cavill has proven he is very adept at on several occasions. Seeing the star go toe-to-toe with Reeves could absolutely be a standout sequence with the potential to rival the franchise’s best fights andeven Cavill’s bathroom brawl fromFallout. If playing a bad guy doesn’t suit Cavill, there’s also the possibility that he could take on more of a protégé roleto potentially take over from the aging Reevesshould he ever officially retire as Wick.

1The James Bond Franchise

Cavill. Henry Cavill.

If there’s one franchise over all others that the internet has been fan-casting Cavill in for the better part of a decade, it’sthe James Bond series. Now that the franchise is in the hands of Amazon andDenis Villeneuvehas been handed the directorial reins, it would seem like an ideal time for Cavill to finally don a tuxedo and order up a martini. Throwing some cold water on this potential casting is the report that thestreaming studio is looking for a younger actorto take on the iconic spy role, so unless Villeneuve has a radically different vision or Amazon can otherwise be convinced that there’sno need for a young Bond, it seems unlikely that Cavill will earn his 00 status.

As with the other franchises, there’s nothing preventing Cavill from taking on a different role instead of the lead. It may not be what fans have asked for, butCavill could make a great Bond villain if given the chance, or even take on some other big role in the franchise that, at the very least, puts him on screen withIan Fleming’s secret agent. There’s precedence for this occurrence as well, as the most recent actor to play M,Ralph Fiennes, was once considered for the role of Bond before taking a different path in his career. Cavill won’t likely be sitting behind a desk admonishing some young actor in the role anytime soon, but there are still plenty of possibilities for him to join the franchise and satisfy his rabid fan base.
