Sarah Michelle Gellardoesn’t want to miss out on a scary good time. While recently chatting with Entertainment Tonight, the iconic actress voiced her upset about not being “wanted” for the highly-anticipatedScream 7. “I tried to get inScream– nobody wanted me,” the actress said, adding, “They were bringing everybody back, I kept thinking I would get a call. I didn’t get a call.” Fans will remember theBuffy the Vampire Slayeralum dipped into the slasher franchise in its second installment, 1997’sScream 2, as sorority girl Cici Cooper.
Although she didn’t last long in the storyline, after being killed off by Ghostface shortly into the film, Gellar says the upcoming seventh feature would’ve been the perfect time for her to make a comeback. Pointing out that Cici’s should-have-been return wouldn’t be anything like herrumored reprisal as Helen ShiversinJennifer Kaytin Robinson’sI Know What You Did Last Summer, Gellar explained,

“There’s a lot of people that died in all the Scream movies that are back. Skeet [Ulrich], [Matthew] Lillard – I’m just saying I’m waiting for my call.”
We’d like to take this moment to kindly askScream 7’s director,Kevin Williamson,to please, pleasepick up the phone and make it happen. Gellar’s right – if you canbring back a slew of the franchise’s deceased killers, the least you can do is give good time girl Cici some more screen time.
