The reality star announced to fans that she had melanoma that had spread and, at one point, caused her to have tumors on her brain that were causing her to have debilitating headaches. She’s been open with fans throughout her health journey, and now, Mellencamp is sharing an exciting bit of news regarding her well-being:Her tumors are shrinking!Mellencamp posted onInstagramletting the public know that her doctors are hopeful, and she is seemingly on the path to becoming cancer-free.
In the caption on her post, Mellencamp shared abrief update about her cancerand was excited to let fans know that her tumors were shrinking or, in some cases,disappearing completely. “One update I couldn’t wait to share! All tumors stage 4 (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course.Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity.”
In the video, Mellencampshared her excitement. “I just finished with all my scans and my tumors have significantly shrunk, which doctors believe means this all will work. And that I will be back to myself and feeling good. I have two more session of immunotherapy and then hopefully, I am done,” Mellencamp said. “And I will be cancer free. I’m going to keep a positive outlook, because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me. He’s like ‘You did this.You got this.'” She went on to say her doctor said “Yougot that Mellencamp blood, you’re good.”
