Per a report fromDeadline, beloved character actorTim Blake Nelsonwill produce and star in an indie drama that will serve as the directorial debut of his son,Henry Nelson. The upcoming film is currently titledAsleep in My Palmand will follow a man who decides to raise his daughter off the grid in Ohio. However, things may start to become complicated due to the fact that they live extremely close to an elite liberal arts college.

Asleep in My Palmwill be written and directed by Henry Nelson, and is set to start production this upcoming January in Oberlin, Ohio.Shannon Houchinsof Hideout Pictures andVince Jolivette, who produced A24’sZola, will produce the film alongside the director’s father, as well asOld Henrywriter-directorPotsy Ponciroliserving as executive producer. Tim Blake Nelson spoke on making this film with his son, saying:

“Henry has written a story about the relationship between the ideals of a liberal arts college and the realities of the poverty and isolation that surround it that I’ve never seen addressed before. We’ve been talking about collaborating since he was twelve years old, and this feels like a perfect way to begin. It makes it even better to work again with Shannon and Potsy after their extraordinary accomplishment withOld Henry.”

Henry Nelson is currently a college student in his fifth year studying Classical Composition and Jazz Composition at the Oberlin Conservatory. He doesn’t seem to have any previous professional film experience but did develop a music and production label at Oberlin. The label, dubbed Probable Voltages, has been responsible for producing several music videos, shorts, and albums. His father, Tim Blake Nelson, has appeared in over eighty movies throughout his 30-plus year career. His most notable appearances includeO' Brother Where Art Thou,The Incredible Hulk, and HBO’sWatchmenseries.

Nelson the senior has just sneaked onto the radar of many film buffs after starring as the title character in this year’s westernOld Henry, in which his performance garnered a ton of praise. Next month, Nelson will appear inGuillermo del Toro’s remake ofNightmare Alley, as well as the sports dramaNational Champions. On top of starring in his son’s first feature, Nelson is set to appear inPinocchio,Bukowski, andGhosts of the Ozark,all scheduled for 2022. Although not a ton of information regardingAsleep in My Palmis not currently known, more details should start to surface once production begins.
