Guillermo del Toroisn’t the only one withan insane collection of movie memorabiliato make cinephiles weep.Peter Jackson, the filmmaker behind theLord of the Ringsmovies, is another, andAdam Savagewas able to take a filmed tour of his man cave forAdam Savage’s Tested.
Some of the treasures to behold are one of the eyes of the HAL 9000 computer from2001: A Space Odyssey, life-size models of velociraptors from theJurassic Parkmovies, skeletons from what look to be of that scene inJason and the Argonauts, portraits of cinematic icons likeAlfred Hitchcock, and face molds from the originalPlanet of the Apes. While there are many more artifacts lying in his chamber of secrets (including props from Spielberg’sA.I.), the video (shown below) delves into the intricacies of the HAL faceplate.

Savage got his start building props and models for movies, and he even taught Jackson a thing or two about how the faceplate works.
Jackson remarked of his collection:
“I don’t have rules in the sense of collecting this and collecting that. I tend to focus on — and obviously I break rules all the time — I tend to sort of focus on things that made an impact on me when I was young. So, I’m doing what I’m doing today because of things that I saw when I was growing up at different times:Planet of the Apes, John Chambers,Thunderbirds, all sorts of things that were majorly, majorly exciting when I was a kid and they made me wanna become a filmmaker.”
After spending a large chunk of his life directing theLord of the Ringstrilogy and theHobbitfilms, Jacksonwill next work on the scriptfor an adaptation of thePhilip ReevenovelMortal Engines, which has plans to evolve into a franchise.
