Woody Allenhas had a pretty great 2016 so far. He’s casting his next film currently and his latest film,Cafe Society, is easily one of the best American films to be released thus far this year. And in no time whatsoever, we’ll be getting our first look at his first foray into the series format withCrisis in Six Scenes, a limited series that Allen is doing with Amazon, who also backedCafe Society. There’s not been much released about the series thus far but Allen’s works tend to look pretty simplistic on paper anyhow, only to expand into potent philosophical quandaries through Allen’s imagery and rhythmic editing.
Well, today, we got our first real look at what those images may look like via a batch of new images from the series, which will debut in late September via Amazon Prime. This is our first full look atMiley Cyrus,Elaine May,John Magaro,Joy Behar, andRachel Brosnahanin the series, who will star alongside Allen,Lewis Black, andStranger ThingsstandoutDavid Harbour. If nothing else, it shows that Allen’s ability to build a unique world hasn’t been lost in the translation from a filmmaker to a series director. To see if the series measures up to his recent hot streak, tune in on September 30th.
